What I Wore {8/31/11}

Whoaaaa it's been a while since I've done one of these! Weird!! Well, that's probably due to the fact that my attire lately has been less than fancy. Well, more directly to the point, my wardrobe lately has pretty much consisted of jorts and tshirts, with the occasional cute-ification added. I have to say, something about being back home has me reverting into my old wardrobe ways. I just haven't found much use for my wedges or heels here. Not a lot of opportunities to get gussied up. I'm totally okay with that though. Being a student again, I need to embrace my inner tshirt lover and give up the heels for a little bit. I've found that I'm strangely attached to them though. Like, I'm trying to find excuses to wear them. Unfortunately, dinner at the mall is not an adequate occasion to bust out the fanciness. But again, I'm okay with that. I'm trying to find inventive ways to add a little bit of "Carmen" to semi-normal outfits. I don't want to scare the other kids in my Econ class, so I'm trying to keep it relatively tame.
I wore this little ol' outfit on one of my days off, just running errands around town. Nothing beats my old stand by jorts (which are totally falling apart, btw) and american apparel deep v. I'm pretty sure I wore that all throughout Summer before heading off to college. But this time I added this adorbs headband (that my Mom thinks makes me look like Rambo. THANKS MOM!) I picked it up at Goodwill sometime in college and have been wearing it to death ever since. It's the perfect addition to a boring outfit. I usually wear it as a headband, but something about the Midwest air had me feeling especially boho/Rambo inspired. Threw on my new favorite beige flats and my outfit was made. I picked these bad boys up at Payless for $12. COME ON. That's a fabulous deal. I'm sure I'll be wearing these flats all throughout the Fall.

PS- the next investment (after my car) for this little blogger that could is an actual camera. I'd love an alternative to my MacBook Pro camera and iPhone. But until then, that will have to do.
PPS- Remember when you used to pass notes and they would always have a PPS or a PPSS or a PSS? I was definitely in favor of the PPS. Ah, those were the days. Can we bring that back? Like, in the workplace?
