Marmoset//Mama Said Obsession

Ugh. Bad days are this worst, right? Well, I very rarely let a whole day get sucked up in suckiness. It just seems like a waste to me. So a bad day is usually just a bad couple of hours or so for me, and then I snap out of it. But it's the snap out that's really key here. Knowing how to get out of a bad mood is a skill it took me years to learn. Surprisingly, it's actually pretty simple... and usually involves Youtube videos.

I've loved this video for SO long- way before I started this here blog. But I wanted to wait until I had a bad day to post it here. It always, without fail makes me feel better when I'm having a bad go of it. See, since I moved home, I've been feeling pretty great. I've loved it. But no one feels great 100% of the time. So I knew I'd have a downswing at some point. WELL HELLO THERE, DOWNSWING! It sort of just hit me last night that I live in Ohio, not in New York. I know that sounds dumb, mainly because I've lived here for almost a month now, but it's just starting to feel real. For the most part, living here is great. But there are, of course, a lot of things I miss about New York. Mainly the people. And having a great job. Nostalgia's a bitch, though. I just can't focus on it too much, or else it totally sucks me in. The more I think about why I moved back here and what my future goals are, the better I feel. I knew it wasn't going to be super easy right away, so I just have to try to keep that in perspective. (This is me, giving myself a pep talk, on my blog. Join me, won't you?)

So instead of focusing on the stress of my up in the air life right now, I'm going to watch this Marmoset video and remember that giggling is scientifically proven to cure sadness.* Giggling is totally the best coping mechanism ever invented by little girls at slumber parties. On this rainy Monday morning, Marmosets are making me feel happy about life. It's all going to work out. Marmoset.

*I made that up. But it sounds right, RIGHT!?!
