Blogger Love: Pugly Pixel

My online world would be nothing without the lovely Pugly Pixel. Katrina runs Pugly Pixel, which specializes in online web design, graphics and photography, as well as little life snapshots. I've been meaning to do an appreciation post for a while, and here's why: almost every piece of blog prettiness here on Cheeky Cheeky comes from Pugly Pixel. She is an absolute genius, and my blog would be hideous without her. I actually got my original blog design from her, which I've tweaked and altered to make it more my own. I cannot say enough what a great resource Pugly Pixel is for bloggers- adding her graphics to your blogs just takes them to a whole new level.

I love me some Photoshop, that's for sure. I've used it on and off since I was in high school, and find myself frequently losing an entire night to perfecting banners and blog graphics. Thing is, creating really amazing blog bling isn't something I've 100% mastered yet. I'd love to get there, and I'm sure I will eventually. But right now, between working, school and blogging, I'm not exactly brimming with free time to improve my Photoshop design skills. Soon, though. When I was launching Cheeky Cheeky, I knew I needed a great resource for not only blog bling, but also Photoshop and design tutorials. Enter: Pugly Pixel. Not only does she provide amazing free resources like Photoshop tape strips, glitter clip art, photo templates and a million other things, but she has the best tutorials. From letterpress tutorials to tileable wallpaper tutorials, I could spend hours on her website and still not get through all of them. Pugly Pixel is just a wealth of online knowledge for those of us just getting started out in this whole blog world. Everything isn't free in the Pixel world, though- and with good reason! Smarty pants started her very own Marketplace, where you can buy superior versions of her individual blog bling items, and get access to new goodies.  Plus she has the Blog Bling Kit that lumps all the best goodies together for $28. #worthit!

These are my favorite freebies that I use all the time:

If you're looking for a way to spruce up your online world, I can't recommend Pugly Pixel enough. If you're anything like me and just don't have the time to whip up all your own graphics for every post, you'll be in heaven!

  1. Wow, super helpful! Thanks for sharing. I need to learn how to make pretty banners and become a Photoshop bad-ass.
