Happy Christmas Week, guys!! This is one Monday I'm not sad to see come our way, because it means Christmas is right around the corner. Actually, that kind of stresses me out because I have so much to do before this weekend. Lots of gifts to make and buy. I'm kind of a last minute type of girl, so I'm used to the pressure. This week instead of doing a balance of school and work, I'll be working full-time because school is over for the semester! Even though I'm slightly bummed about the early mornings and long days, I'd much rather be working than studying. So I can't really complain!
This weekend was the perfect post-finals break for me. I headed up to Ann Arbor to hang out with my brother, Shane, and his wife, Diane for the whole weekend. Friday was fun- we went out to dinner near their apartment and then came home and played video games. You know, just cool kids stuff. Have I mentioned I'm totally in love with their Boston Terrier, Jack? He is seriously the best dog in the world. I want to permanently hang out with him for the rest of my life. All he wants to do is cuddle all day long. You can't ever get more than like 5 feet away from him. His only desire in life is human contact. All anyone wants in the world is to be wanted, and little Jack is no different. SO CUTE!
Saturday brought lots of shopping, including a trip to Whole Foods! I really wish Toledo would get a Whole Foods already. It's seriously the best. Nothing else even comes close to their selection of food for me. I want to live in their produce section. So much yumminess. I scored a piece of their Vegan carrot cake that was probably one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. (Why Vegan? I'll explain this afternoon.) It was so yummy, I checked the label like three times to make sure it was actually Vegan. I couldn't believe it. The perfect piece of cake. The rest of the night was movies and snuggles on the couch. Perfect Saturday night.
I drove back down to Toledo Sunday afternoon for a mellow day. I caught up on some reading and worked a little on the shop before heading out to lunch with my parents at P. F. Chang's, and then Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. No offense, Tom Cruise- but really? Snooze. The action scenes were cool and I even yelled at the screen on accident a few times. But other than that it was a total miss for me. They didn't explain certain parts of the plot very well, and by the end I just wanted everyone to get blown up. Booooring. Afterwards I did some more reading until I couldn't stay awake anymore. I'm currently in the middle of Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and I can't put it down. One of my best friends gave me the book a couple years ago and I've been meaning to read it ever since. He totally loved it and I trust his taste completely. Plus, they just made a movie out of it! I definitely want to finish the book before I see the movie. Shouldn't be a problem because I'm powering through it. SO good!!
Merry Christmas Week dudes!
