Weekend Snapshots {1/15/12}

It's Monday and I'm still in my happy place because I don't have work or school today! Happy MLK Day to me! I'm spending today working on lots of blog & shop stuff. Hopefully I'll be fitting in a movie and some mellow time, too. It's definitely deserved after the weekend I had. Oooft. Busy busy busy- but in my favorite way possible.

Friday night I had a date with my garment steamer in preparation for our photo shoots this weekend. Super sexy and romantic, I know. I got the steamer for Christmas and this was my first time busting it out. The set-up was super easy and once I got my groove going, I actually liked the steaming process. I couldn't imagine this weekend without it. I know I sound like an infomercial right now, but it really gets wrinkles out of clothes extremely well. It's a must have for vintage shop owners- tumble drying and ironing are definitely not the way to go.

Saturday we started our shoot with Sydney & Erica, our two models who are currently on the shop. My Mom was there helping me out, which was amazing. Plus my Dad got up early to set up our photo backdrop. They're srsly the best. I couldn't do any of this without their help. If this were my Golden Globes' acceptance speech, I'd be shaking, crying and giving them all the credit. But it's not, so... I'll continue with our regularly scheduled programming. THE SHOOT was SO much fun!! I had a blast shooting the girls. (That sentence sounds horrible taken out of context.) They look beautiful in the outfits- I can't wait to get them up on the shop! We'll be adding a few this week- stay tuned for that! Even though I was exhausted, we went to see the new Mark Wahlberg movie, Contraband. I die for him. Srsly- LOVE. The movie was amazeballs. More on that later.

Sunday morning I woke up early to prep for another day of shooting. Stress- but good stress! My sister in law, Joyce, came down to model for us. This was her first time modeling and she owned it like a mofo, for sure. I was so impressed! She looked great in the clothes and I think her pictures are going to turn out great. So excited! Shane & Diane came down for a late lunch/early dinner after the photo shoot with our whole family. Max & Ermas- yummy! I spent the rest of the night sifting through photos and working on item descriptions. God, guys... I'm really cool. I know you're really jealous of my social life. I don't mean to rub it in your face. Sorry for being so braggy about it. I just can't help it- I'm that cool.

Now I'm going to enjoy my day off by doing more work and then heading up to Ann Arbor to celebrate Shane's birthday! Happy birthday, Shaney!!! I won't publish your age here- but I will say that you're really old. So, internet... do with that information what you will.

  1. I love seeing your photo shoot pictures! Does the garment steamer get the smell out of vintage clothes?
