I'm Loving {2/23/12}

I'm loving everything on the Internet lately- too much goodness for me to sort through. I'm so behind on all of my blogs. I feel like a delinquent student! Which is actually funny because I'm behind on my homework right now, too. Ooops! But I have a lot of free time this weekend so I'll most likely be spending most of it writing, reading & working on the shop. Can we fast forward to Friday, please?

Kaylah from The Dainty Squid posted some beautiful pictures of Lake Erie that I'm totally obsessing over. I've never been to Lake Erie in the winter. Lived here most of my life and somehow I missed out on this! Who knew it was so pretty? I'm slightly bummed the weather is already shifting towards Spring because that means I probably won't make it out to check out the winter wonderland at Lake Erie. Oh well, that just means we're inching closer to summer. Yes yes yes!

I saw this picture perfect bedroom and literally said to myself "I want to go to there" Liz Lemon style. This bedroom is everything I want my life to be- pretty, girly & vintage. I mean I'm pretty sure I need to move out of my parents house before I can have my own chandelier. That's like an unwritten rule, right?

Speaking of things pretty & girly- I die over this dress by ASOS. The pattern is just so gorgeous! It makes me want to fast forward to April. I can't wait for it to be warm enough for dresses sans tights. I'll have to do something about my pasty legs though. It's totally not okay how pale I get in the winter. Mexicans are supposed to be tan year-round. It's like I'm the exception to the rule- pale Mexican!

I mean... this print basically sums up my life. More beer. Always more beer. As a girl, I like to think I rep pretty hard for beer drinking ladies. There are so many women out there who give the rest of us a bad name, claiming "beer is gross!" and it "has way too many cals!" UM- no. Beer is God's gift to men & women alike. It's delicious and totally worth the 120 calories or whatever. I could live off of beer & diet coke for the rest of my life. I want to hang this print in my hypothetical future kitchen one day.

I'm jonesing for another tattoo like a total crazy person. I'm having dreams about getting another one. I saw this tattoo on Fuck Yeah Tattoos and design ideas have been swirling around my head ever since. It actually reminds me a lot of the tattoo I want to get on my upper thigh, except I want a skull instead of an owl. Trust me, it's going to be super cute. I'm still debating on getting deep red in the roses or sticking to black and white. So far I only have b&w pieces, so getting red would be a pretty big deal (in my head.) We'll see. I have time. UGHHHH- why can't someone just drop money out of the sky for me to get my next tattoo? That should be how life works.

Speaking of tattoos- I saw this picture on Miss Teacups and it sums up my opinions on tattoos 100%. STFU haters. I realize I'm going to get old and wrinkly and my tattoos aren't going to stay perfect forever. That doesn't mean I'll suddenly regret getting them or love them any less. They are me. I fully intend to be a rad crazy old lady with blue hair and tattoos who spends all day dicking around with other badass old ladies. Yes, I can see the future. It's awesome.

Probably more than anything on the Internet, I'm loving having my baby, Olive Penderghast, back in action. She got a little dinged up a few weeks ago in my fender bender and has been in the shop ever since. I know my love for her is weird and probably excessive, but she's my first real car that I can call my own. That's a big deal in my world! She's all patched up and running like a champ again. I couldn't be happier. CC & Olive- REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD!

  1. I'm so glad that you and Olive have been reunited!

    I feel the same way about tattoos! When I get old and wrinkly I'll just hang out with other old people with tattoos and torment other old people!

    Also, if you like beer have you tired Shocktop with an orange squeezed inside? If not you need to Carmen! It is one of my favorites!

  2. That tattoo picture of the old dudes. Someone emailed me that recently and said "This'll be you, Kelli". I totally want to be old and wrinkly and tattooed.

    Happy that Olive is all fixed up :)

  6. Haha, I love the more beer print. And I totally agree with you, some girls give us a bad time. I can't tell you how many times a guy has questioned me drinking beer!

    And I love the tattoo. I think coloured ones can be really awesome if done nicely. My friend Katie (you can find some of her pictures here http://www.facebook.com/miss.katie.cupcake) has some really awesome colour ones!!!

    And heck yes. I have always always always had the plan that the minute my hair turns grey, I'm dying it blue. I'm not even kidding. I can't wait to be that weird little granny, rocking the blue hair and tats, yet still being the one the grandkids come to baked goods. I love the grannies that always say obscene things and that's my aim one day.

    Haha, I love the list!!
