I am SUPER excited to share with you guys one of my biggest blogger crushes & first ever featured sponsor: Kate from Wake Up, Lovely! She's an all around awesome lady and I'm super excited to have her as a sponsor this month. Love her!
Tell us a bit about yourself!Well hello there, I'm Kate. I'm a blogger, a writer, an occasional but not very good crafter, a painter and a generally chirpy young lady. I live in a tiny but charming little village in the south of England, where I waitress by day and type away vigorously by night. My endless list of things I love includes pretty tattoos, fun make-up, painting flowers, reading, making use of old clothes and vlog-a-logging. My blog is filled with these things, along with my silly opinions and positive pieces. I like to spread the old cheerfulness!
How did you get your blog started?
I've always kept a journal of some sort. Piczo, livejournals and such when I was young and felt like the world would care to know about my life ;) Apparently, I still do. I started a blog here on Blogger back when I was a school student, using it for all the wrong reasons; mainly to share my silly teenage angst. I fell in love with blogging after discovering such a huge community of lovely bloggers and decided I wanted to use my tiny corner of the internet to share the things that inspire me, the little aspects of life that make me happy and everything that I convince myself others would like to read!
Any advice to give to other bloggers?
Share what makes you happy, not what makes you mad. Credit others work. Only share the things that really honestly interest you. And the old cliche, be yourself. It's easy to fall into the trap of trying to be the perfect blogger after being influenced by so many lovely people and you can often find yourself losing your own voice. Being yourself is greatly more enjoyable in the end; it'll bring you your ideal readers/friends and blogging will be a hell of a lot more fun.
What's your latest musical obsession?
Hey I just met you. And this is crazy. But here's my number. So call me maybe.
I wish I were joking. But I can't stop listening to it. I'm also listening to a lot of older stuff lately; Queen, AC/DC, Joan Jett, silly 80's one hit wonders that I mysteriously know all of the words to. I went to see Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds recently too, so they've been on my playlist ever since.
What do you want to do with your life?
Ideally, I'd like to marry Johnny Depp and move into an oversized home with a fancy zoo/aquarium in our back garden, before finally being begged by the current headmaster of Hogwarts to be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. If that fails, I suppose being a freelance writer would be quite nice. I have half a dozen book ideas in mind and I'm currently writing my first e-course, so we'll see how that plan pans out before Mr Depp comes calling. I do, however, frequently change my mind. For a brief period yesterday I had decided I wanted to be a make-up artist.
Go visit Kate at Wake Up, Lovely & leave her some love!
