I'm Loving {6/29/12}

I'm such a fan of putting together lists of things I love both in life and on the internet. It just feels like the perfect post for this Friday. I need a big pep-up this morning because seemingly everything went wrong before I even got to work. Woke up late, couldn't find anything to wear, got in an argument, lost my keys, etc. Just a mess of a morning. BLECH. I'm definitely going to need to focus on all things positive and happy today and try to put my morning behind me. I've got a Diet Coke in my hand, new Walk the Moon in my ears, and polka dots on my skirt. I think we're headed in the right direction. I've got my sights set on a beer at 5:00. Perfect way to end the work week. Now, on with the list. Focusing on happy things. {PS- Don't forget to enter the Superstition Vintage Giveaway! Five ways to enter! It closes tonight!!}

This Nan Lawson illustration print is currently 25% off and I'm having a hard time rationalizing NOT buying it. It's a Day of the Dead Hipster. Guys... come on. I love. Obviously. It would be perfect for my new apartment in LA!! {Legit, I think that sentence comes out of my mouth at least twelve times a day... I just can't wait!!!}

Kitschy Digitals is my new favorite thing on the internet. It's a creative digital marketplace full of blog bling, fonts, photographer templates, and even needlework patterns. I'm legit contemplating taking up needlepoint because of this website. Everything on the website is SUPER cute. I want to own it all. The awesome thing about this site is that it's not at all overpriced and everything seems totally worth the price. $5 for a font from the lovely Kate Gabrielle? Um, hi. YES.

I'm in LOVE with this dress from Modcloth, Maritime of Your Life. I know horizontal stripes are supposed to be unflattering and everything blah blah freaking blah. But I can't help but love the look of a small horizontal black and white stripe. And any addition of mustard yellow into an outfit just throws it overboard into "MUST OWN" territory. I've put a semi-end to my shopping addiction until I get all moved to LA, so passing this dress up is a gigantic bummer for me. Someone should buy it and show me how freaking cute it is IRL!

I'm kind of hyper focused on this truth, found on Pinterest. It is because of this idea that I am constantly seeking total fulfillment in my life 100% of the time. I guess that's a lofty goal, it's just that- a goal! Not always attainable, but having it out there as something I strive for is really helpful. I honestly want every day to be memorable, fun, and interesting. Ya know? It's just a really positive perspective to have.

Apparently Bookshelfporn.com is a real website that exists. On that note, I'll see you guys later. I'm going to go stalk this website for the next 27 years of my life. JK, but really- all I want is to have a room in my home like any of those on this website. I want to live in a house, surrounded by books. That's why I haven't converted to the Kindle or the Nook yet- I just really love owning physical books. The smell, the feel, mmmm love.

I love a good bargain. That much has been made pretty clear on this blog. So the idea of creating customized mugs out of just a 99 cent ceramic mug and a sharpie blows my mind. This DIY by Danni from Oh Hello Friend has me making all kinds of crafty plans. And I'm not even crafty! I love the design on her mug & the best part is- it's one of a kind. Love it! I'm definitely thinking that DIY Sharpie Ceramic Mugs are in order for my LA apartment. They're going to be so freaking cute.

Okay, now I have 3 videos to share with the class. I usually try to limit it to one per "I'm Loving" post, but I pretty much have to share all 3. They're just so awesome.

Lana Del Rey's new music video for "National Anthem" is kind of my new favorite thing ever. I don't care what anyone says- I love her! Her style is swoon-worthy- I want to steal her entire wardrobe. Her songs are perfect background music for life. Plus, I can actually sing along to her songs- unlike Adele songs where I'm like "Oh my God, I can't hit that note!" The concept for this video is really cool. I've always been a Jackie O fan, so this is right up my alley. Also, A$AP Rocky- at first I was like "LOL" but guys, he actually pulls it off really well! Watch & be amazed.

This. Video. Is. Everything. The fact that this exists, and so many hilarious human beings got together to be all hilarious and make a video gives me faith in the future of the world. YEAH, I SAID IT. Plus, anything involving Beauty and the Beast basically just calls to me. Same with any Youtube video in which someone repeatedly uses the word "bougie" or "hoodrat." This is like a double whammy of awesomeness & giggles. Also, why didn't we think of this first? Kudos, funny people. You're, like, mad funny and stuff. {PS- Thank you to my friend Johanna for sending me this video!}

This is probably my favorite thing of the week. I guess I've never blogged about it before, but my brother is a super talented DJ/Producer living in LA. I know, he basically just makes me look super uncool in comparison at all times. Don't worry, I've totally come to grips with it. His DJ/Producer name is Le Youth, which is the ultimate example of him being amazing at naming things. He even came up with the name Cheeky Cheeky! Total credit due there. Every Le Youth song has the undeniable effect of making me just want to dance. Sad fact of life is that I look like I gigantic loser when I dance. Like, it's gross. {I can't sing, I can't dance. JEEZ GUYS, DOWNERFEST 2012! You're all invited!!!! Plz RSVP.} The girl in this video is doing all the moves I do in my head to Le Youth's song, "Dance With Me." Her dancing is mesmerizing. Warning: This song is so freaking catchy, it will be in your head for like a week, & you won't even complain about it. NBD. Check out more Le Youth jamzzz on Soundcloud! Perfect for summer.

{Offline loves: purging old clothes & clutter for the move; making plans with my LA roommate for a November whale watching trip; friends becoming friends; PBR in a bottle; planning out blog features; never ending conversations; little kiddos coming over for a visit; knowing myself better than anyone else & staying true to who that is, no matter what; finishing the first season of Girls; embracing flats in the summertime; creating my own iPhone backgrounds, just because; learning to love that part of me that secretly enjoys Country music; novel-like emails; days that end with ice cream; Emoji-only texts; focusing on the positive; summer nights spent in jorts and sweatshirts; LA countdown- 2 months and 2 days.}
