Marietta, OH/// {The B&B}

A couple of weeks ago, I went with my Mom and her best friend Susie {who is like my 2nd mother} to visit Susie's daughter Krissy {the closest I have to a sister} down in Marietta, Ohio where Krissy lives & goes to school. It was a short visit, only two days, but very much needed. Sometimes it's nice to just get that quality family time in. Even though it's only a four hour drive away, it felt like we were in a completely different world. Living in Northwest Ohio, when you travel down to Southern Ohio- shit gets REAL. To us, those are southerners. For serious. They even have accents! Four hours away from home, it seemed like we had somehow been transported into a completely different world. There was also something SO cool about seeing where Krissy has been living for the past few years.

Other than the amazing company on this trip, my favorite part of Marietta was the Bed & Breakfast we stayed at- The House on Harmar Hill. {Kind of sounds like a horror movie, right? Like The House on Haunted Hill or whatever. Except it's not. At least I don't think so. I didn't die, so if it is a haunted house, the ghosts aren't very good at their jobs. Unless they're like Casper the Friendly ghost. Ooooo, Devon Sawa. Swoon.} ANYWAY. I can't even tell you how beautiful this B&B is in real life. It's like a dream come true- gorgeous architecture, creaky old wooden floors, and a beautiful view overlooking Marietta. The only slightly negative about the B&B is that I couldn't get their wireless internet to work. My Mom said it worked in one of the rooms downstairs. But whatever. Truthfully I was just too lazy to walk all the way down stairs (UGH! SO HARD!) to get some my interwebz fix. At first, I found it a bit annoying- the whole being removed from real life thing- but that's kind of what being in Marietta is like in general to me. The whole lack of internet thing was only fitting. The entire experience at The House on Harmar Hill was amazing. If you find yourself in Marietta, Ohio {and I don't think many of you will- but still}, definitely stay there. Doug & Judy, the innkeepers are super sweet and make some bangin' breakfast food. But that's still to come... I've broken my overabundance of photos from the trip into a couple posts. This one is the bed portion of the Bed & Breakfast. Lots of prettiness to see!!

The room my Mom & I stayed in turned out to be the marriage suite. Um.... AWKWARD. We did NOT consummate the marriage. I didn't really mind being stuck in the awkward room though because it was so damn pretty! Lots of lace, white linens and adorable little girlie touches. Oh, and a dope ass vintage dress. Basically, everything I love. I seriously almost stole that dress. SO pretty, right?! I just didn't want Judy to get mad at me.

The bathtubs were my absolute favorite thing about the house! Who doesn't love a claw footed bathtub?! It might just be my ultimate goal in life to have a house with one of these. Like, could it get any classier? That and a chandelier, and I will know that I've officially "made it" in life.And a seafoam green claw footed bathtub with a lace shower curtain?! I didn't know such beauty even existed. It's like it was designed specifically for me. SRSLY, MUST OWN.

{I snuck into some other rooms at the B&B that were empty to take a few quick snapshots. CREEPER!}

Stay tuned for the next Marietta roundup in which I post pictures of the breakfast part of the Bed & Breakfast. Basically, just a bunch of food porn. Yum.

  10. Oh my gosh that B&B looks gorgeous! The outside is reminding me of one of the houses in the TV show Grimm. I would love to stay in a place like this one day. xxx

  11. The color of the tub with the lace is perfect! I would have considered stealing the dress too. Last year I was in this beach house rental that had wooden ships in each room and I seriously was going to take one because I figured "Would they even notice?!" Well, I didn't because someone said they charge you if you take them. Whatevs.

    I can't believe they wrote your names on the sign. Too freakin cool.
