Watching: Drew & I are both loving Life After Top Chef and Up All Night. I'm a little behind on New Girl and Sons of Anarchy, {polar opposites} but I'll hopefully have a chance to catch up this weekend. OH! And I still haven't finished the last three episodes of Project Runway. MAJORLY behind on that. Don't tell me who won! Other than that, I'm watching last season of 30 Rock & The Office on Netflix. I love being able to just power through episodes one after the other on a mellow evening at home.

Listening to: UM, HELLO- NEW TAYLOR SWIFT! I'm aware that if I wanted to assert any music credibility, I should probably have said some randomly obscure artist, but I'm just being honest here. Her new album, Red, is great. Like, amazingly great. It's full of great breakup songs, love songs and party songs. I'm pretty obsessed with it. If you haven't listened to it yet, you should! It's pretty damn catchy. I've also been on a pretty big Miranda Lambert kick lately. She's pretty badass. I can't help but love her. Up next on my listening queue: the new Ben Gibbard record. Must listen ASAP.

Thinking About: What's next for me outside of work. I want to always be pushing myself further in terms of my passion for writing and design and reaching goals I set for myself within those fields. After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided that I'm taking the plunge into freelance design! I'm lucky enough that my new job involves a bit of design work, but I really want to continue to develop my design skills outside of work and hopefully begin taking on clients in the near future. {EEEEK!} It's definitely nerve-wracking, but I'm pretty excited about this decision. First and foremost though, I'm going to be spending the next couple of months developing my web design skills and learning the nuts and bolts of HTML & CSS a bit better before taking on clients. I've worked with them both in the past but I'm a little rusty and, of course, there's always room to grow. With this decision comes a lot of possible changes for my blog, but that's all still up in the air. I can't wait to get things moving! Other than that, I'm also thinking about the future of Shop Cheeky Cheeky. I'm definitely going to be making some shopping trips soon & listing some new stuff!

Looking Forward to: An adventure this weekend with Drew! We're heading an hour and a half East to Oak Glen, CA to check out an apple orchard there. Kind of can't wait. Granted, it's not going to feel quite like fall, since it'll probably be 80 degrees. But still- I'm going to pick apples to my heart's content and eat lots of caramel apples and apple donuts & drink loads of apple cider. Yum yum! Honestly, the best part about having a boyf, other than the fact that I get to gain 5 lbs of requisite "happy weight," is how many new adventures we go on together. Mini-road trips are my favorite :)

Reading: Ugh, I keep starting and stopping books. Bad habit, I know. I just haven't been able to find anything that's holding my interest lately. And if I'm going to be spending time away from the internet and TV, aka my fictional BFF, Liz Lemon, it's going to have to be a hell of a read. Anyone have any suggestions?

Trying to Figure Out: How to get the oil changed in my car, without having to actually take it in. Why are "adult errands" always the least fun things ever? I just need to bite the bullet and get it over with, but every time I go to do it, I end up somehow just going to brunch instead. Funny how that happens.

Making Me Happy: Lots & lots of things... Traffic free drives; the beginning stages of a relationships- the highs, the (mid)lows, and figuring it all out together; the fact that I keep on realizing that even in December, it's not going to get cold here in LA- which means that, for the first time in my entire life, I won't have to put on a giant puffy coat to leave the house; getting Panera for lunch everyday at work and eating all the bread in the world; quiet nights in with my roommate; car dance marathon sessions with myself; people being nice on the freeway and making switching lanes super easy {srsly, favorite thing ever}; wearing my Minnetonka Moccasins to work; endless free Diet Coke at the studio; discovering new blogs to obsess over; finding new favorite taco trucks {TACO ZONE!} and spending as much time as possible with a camera in my hand.

  4. Alright Carm, my first official comment on your blog (notice I'm posting as anonymous bc I'm just too lazy to figure that whole thing out). I feel like happiness is radiating out of you which I absolutely love (srsly, I'm so happy you're so happy)!!! Love the pic at the top, love all the things that are making you happy, can't wait to listen to the new T Swift (it's on my to do list), can't believe you still haven't finished Project Runway (get on that girl) but I hope you have started watching season two of American Horror Story (crazy shiz going on there, let me tell ya), read Bossypants, grown up errands blow particularly when they involve spending money on things you just don't want to spend money on...brunch is way better. I still miss you like woah and can't wait to see you back in T-Town. Sorry for the horribly long run on sentence that I just composed above. xoxo Gossip Girl ;)

  5. First of all HELL YEAH TAYLOR SWIFT. I listen to Red in my car, in the house, taking the dog for a walk. She follows me everywhere. And Miranda is bad to the ass. Definitely my favourite country artist. Watching tv shows episode after episode is sooo much better than watching them week to week. Nuf said.

  6. Oh my gosh, too weird. I've been clicking past the last three episodes of Project Runway on my recorded list. Need to watch them - I'm paranoid that someone will spoil the winner for me, too!
