From My Window

One of my favorite places in the world is my bed. Shocking, right? Well, it's not just because of the whole comfort, sleepy-time thing. The view from the window next to my bed is killer. Houses, trees (some of the palm persuasion) and loads of sunshine. There's this insanely steep hill outside my window, a little to the left. At night I can see cars drive down it very slowly. The headlights used to annoy me, keeping me up tossing and turning, but now they're like a little reminder that I'm home. These streams of light have now become a strange kind of comfort. I love when a new apartment suddenly becomes home.

Before I lived here, my body didn't naturally wake itself up. But after a few months in this room and I'm up at 7:30 am every single morning. I think it has something to do with the sunshine streaming in. As much as I think night owls are super cool, I've accepted my fate as a morning person. I know, I know. People hear "morning person" and think- ew, what a freak. But I'm telling you- those of you sleeping until noon are sleeping through the best part of the day! Early morning is the time I spend doing my favorite things- reading, catching up on blogs and sometimes even snapping a few photos out of my window.

Falling asleep with headlights blurring in the distance and waking up to sunshine peeking up from behind the hill... I don't think this will ever get old.

  1. Mmm such awesome pictures! Did you know it's actually better for your body to naturally wake up? Waking up to sunshine/other natural elements makes you rise up slower and is better for your movements and brain functions for the rest of the day (as opposed to a ringing alarm.) Weird, right? Anyway, cute little post and a nice thing to brighten my day. :]

    1. Thanks!! I've heard that before- that you're supposed to let your body wake you up naturally. I'm definitely a fan of it!

Thank you for taking the time to comment! It's lovely hearing from you :)
