As a self proclaimed candy & cheese fanatic, I can admit that the idea of me eating healthy in the New Year is a bit shocking. I'm usually content to order pizza, wash it down with a few beers and then go out for ice cream. (I just described myself as basically equivalent to any and all heterosexual men in America.) But I realize that my metabolism won't always be what it is now, and if I want to drop a few pounds, sooner is better than later. Plus, I hate being referred to as an unhealthy vegetarian, or a vegetarian who doesn't eat vegetables. I want to be healthy! So in an effort mix in some healthy vegetables into my diet, I've been making myself what I like to call "garbage salads"- meaning I basically just throw whatever vegetables and fruit I have into a bowl and call it a salad. Fancy stuff!
